Nicholas (Nic) Collins, born 2001 in Switzerland and now residing in the United States is a drummer recognized for his remarkable musicianship, early start, and rise on the global stage. Beginning to play the drums at the age of three, Nic—son of legendary drummer Phil Collins—was naturally drawn to the instrument from an early age. His earliest formative musical influences can be traced to his childhood, when he accompanied and observed his father during the 2004 “Final Farewell Tour.”

Nic began playing drums professionally for his father’s solo band at the age of 14, initially performing at various charity events. These early appearances soon evolved into more prominent engagements, including the opening ceremony of the 2016 US Open.  In 2017-2019 he gained international attention as the drummer for the Phil Collins  “Not Dead Yet” stadium tour, where he performed alongside legendary musicians, demonstrating both maturity and command well beyond his years.  Nic was announced as the drummer for Genesis’s first reunion in 14 years, joining the lineup for “The Last Domino?” stadium tour in 2021.   Building on this momentum, he later served as the touring drummer for Mike + The Mechanics during their 2023 “Refueled” stadium tour, and most recently contributed to their 2025 “Looking Back – Living the Years” tour, further establishing his reputation as a versatile and reliable live performer.   Collins is also a member of his band Better Strangers, further expanding his artistic output as both a performer and collaborator.

In addition to his touring work, Nic has built a strong presence in the drumming community. His recent feature on Drumeo has amassed over 2.5 million views, showcasing his skill, musicality, and approachability to a global audience. This placed him in the top tier of performing content on Drumeo.   He has also been invited as a featured artist at numerous international drumming conferences, where he continues to inspire and connect with the next generation of musicians.

In addition to his father, Nic cites John Bonham, Danny Carey, Taylor Hawkins, Gavin Harrison, Stewart Copeland, Abe Cunningham, Chad Smith, and Jon Theodore as some of his main drumming influences.

Endorsed by Gretsch Drums, Sabian Cymbals, Remo, DW, Pro-Mark, Roland, he combines technical precision with dynamic live energy, making him one of the most exciting drummers of his generation.
